I want to save my spot!

Are you a grades 3-12 teacher?

Yes? Great, I've got a couple questions for you...

✦ Are you baffled by what your students do with data?

✦ Are you confused by the claim many of your students make from graphs?

✦ Are you wondering how AI relates to data and your teaching?

Those state tests are coming up sooner than we would like to think and they have SO many data-based questions this year. Now more than ever ALL of our students need help engaging in learning to get these critical skills…without it taking tons of time for us!

But how can we do this quickly with SO many other things already on our plates?

What's New in Education?

We're not just about data — we're staying out front of the wave of cutting-edge education trends.

STEP 𝟭: LEVERAGE HOW OUR EYES WORK

Make your job easier while setting your students up for more analysis success? Yes, it is true! Knowing how our eyes work we can teach our students to leverage that to their advantage when analyzing graphs.

STEP 𝟮: EMPOWER MAKING SENSE OF DATA

Find out one simple tweak to how we teach data that DRAMATICALLY changes how students look at, analyze, and interpret data in their own graphs and others! Plus, dive into the powerful role of AI in making this process even more engaging.

STEP 𝟯: UNPACK THE PROCESS

Learn the #1 mistake we so often make when trying to help students “make sense of data” for our different content areas and test prep. And guess what? AI is here to assist in breaking down complex data processes and making your lives easier.

What's the Buzz?

We'll bridge today with the future with these important educational trends:

The Rise of AI in Curriculum Design and Grading: Uncover how AI relates to teaching with data…as well as designing our data-based curriculum design and grading, making your teaching journey smoother.

Equity and Inclusion in STEM: Join us in making STEM accessible to ALL, ensuring every student, regardless of background or future aspirations, gets a fair shot at mastering these critical skills of the future.

Ooh, yes I want in!

What are past participants saying?

"Your workshops broke down the topics into manageable, comprehensible bundles - - providing both strategies and techniques for me to better assist my students in making sense of data."

- Bob G., Grade 5 Teacher

"Data presentation has become a non-issue in the classroom.  Students know how to assess the data in front of them and come to a conclusion about how to represent it graphically."

- Jackie K., High School Biology Teacher

"Getting my students to go beyond just plotting the bar or line graph was SO hard. But now they are able to articulate their ideas more easily and can extrapolate from the data!"

- Naomi W., Middle School Science Teacher

Who's your facilitator?

Kristin Hunter-Thomson pulls from her formal and informal education background (grades 4 - undergraduates) to facilitate data and science education professional development for teachers in grades 3-16, develop data-focused educational resources, and evaluate STEM educational programs through Dataspire. She also writes the Data Literacy 101 column articles for NSTA’s Science Scope.

Over the last 15+ years Kristin has facilitated workshops and supported a wide range of teachers, schools, and districts around the United States with her transformational, research-based, classroom-ready programs.

As a previous classroom teacher, curriculum developer, and professional learning provider Kristin pulls from her range of experiences to inspire and empower educators and students to engage confidently with data and their classroom content.

Known for being accessible and passionate, teachers often tell Kristin that she's helped them to have more fun doing their jobs while engaging their students more than they thought was possible.

She lives in California and when not nerding out with educators she loves getting out in nature with her family & cooking!
